This year we will be going to Newbridge-on-Wye. The format will be the same as in previous years.

Friday 22nd- Meet 12noon at Plascrug Leisure Centre for ride out.
Saturday 23rd- 70/80mile club ride with cafe stop.
Sunday 24th- Ride back to Aberystwyth, using different route.

UK cycling round-up: Icy weather disrupts time trials

The weekend’s heavy snow and frost wreaked havoc with the Christmas time trial programme, with all but one of the events falling victim to the icy conditions across large parts of the country.

All of Saturday’s three time trials were called off because of the weather, leaving hundreds of riders disappointed.

Ironically, the only event to go ahead had the smallest field, with just three riders entered in the Ogmore Valley Wheelers’ 10-mile TT near Neath on Sunday.

Two DNS’s meant a guaranteed win for Dominic Brown (Ystwyth CC) who finished the course – shortened to 9.5 miles to avoid icy patches at both the start and finish – in 24:52.
