Jones & Thorogood to pair up

Paul Jones has answered Danny T’s call for a time trial partner for this weekends Part Talbot Wheelers 2up 25 mile TT at Resolven near Neath.

With some strong teams down for the first Welsh time trial of the season, the Ystwyth pair will need a good ride to get amongst the top positions. Both have been training hard during the winter and are confident of working well together.

The course takes parts of the old main road and the main dual carriageway, so Dannys power on the flats and Pauls hill efforts should suit them well.

Good Luck fellas. Fly Ystwyth flag. If it rains Paul are you still going to ride your new P3?

Bit of a disaster really with Paul’s saddle going from horizontal to near-vertical after going over a cat-eye about two miles in. Are these Cervelo P3s all they’re cracked up to be I wonder? Anyway we pressed on and got fastest team with a vet which paid for the fuel. Think it was a mid 57. We both know we can go a lot faster so it’s all looking good for the upcoming season.

I’m doing the Rudy Project Series – first one is in Kent on 29th March – closing date 10th March – so if anyone’s interested in sharing a lift and staying at me mum’s, let me know! There’s also an open the afternoon before on same course which I will be entering. Seniors do two laps, us old blokes only one. It’s a sporting course like all Rudys.
