Ystwyth Time Trial Series – Hilly 25 (Llanliar) Result

Fine conditions, yet an exceptionally tough course greeted the riders this evening for the long & lumpiest Ystwyth time trial course.
The road reared upwards almost from the gun from Abermad all the way to Llangwyrfon and beyond to Bethania and Penuwch before some normality was imposed on the main road back towards Llanilar from Tynrethin.
The climbers came to the fore with Paul Brewer and Andy Hunt riding very well, although neither were able to upstage Danny Thoroggod on the night as he cruised to a 1.04.44 with Brewer second with 1.07.42 and Hunt third with 1.08.33.
Dewi Hughes may have been on course for a top three finish but the severity of the rough course was summed up when a pothole got the better of his handlebars,snapping a time trial aero bar in two upon impact meaning he had to ride half way around the course with one bar making gear changes almost impssible!
